Frequently Asked Questions
Do You Offer In person appointments? Virtual Appointments?
I offer appointments in person at my office in Santa Rosa, CA. I also offer virtual/online appointments via secure video to residents throughout the state of California.
I’m uncertain about starting therapy. How will I know if this is right for me?
Reaching out for support can be challenging, and may bring up all kinds of emotions. I offer a free 15-minute video consultation that may help you discern the next best step on your path and put you at ease. This meeting gives us a chance to get to know each other and determine if we are a good fit. You’ll have the opportunity to share a bit about your situation and what you hope to get out of therapy. Then, I’ll provide some information about myself and my approach as a therapist, and you’ll be able to ask any questions you may have. If you decide you would like to move forward, we’ll go ahead and schedule your first appointment.
What is your fee?
My fee is $170 per 50 minute session. EMDR intensives occur in increments of 3 hours, with a starting fee of $510 per 3-hour session. Upon starting therapy you will receive a document called a “Good Faith Estimate” which provides additional information (including billing codes) and an estimate of fees for up to 12 months of services.
Do you accept insurance?
I am not in-network with any insurance companies, so I do not bill directly. With some PPO insurance plans, I may be considered an out-of-network provider and you may be reimbursed in full or in part. I am happy to provide you with a monthly superbill to give to your insurer. Please reach out to your insurance company to check your coverage by asking the following questions:
Do I have mental health or behavioral health out-of-network benefits for outpatient settings?
What is my deductible? Has it been met?
Is approval required by my primary care physician?
How many mental health sessions does my plan cover annually
How do I obtain reimbursement for an out-of-network mental health provider?
What will the coverage amount be per session?
Are telehealth sessions covered?
Will sessions with a registered associate therapist (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) be covered?
